Robert Half has partnered up with an industry leader to identify a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong payroll processing experience, benefits administration knowledge, and a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and employee service. Based on general knowledge. Key Responsibilities Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time for salaried, hourly, and/or contract employees. Payroll volumes of 400 to 750 employees Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries. Maintain payroll and benefits records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Reconcile payroll registers, benefit invoices, deductions, remittances, and related accounts. Coordinate payroll submissions and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable legislation. Support year-end payroll activities, including tax forms, reconciliations, and audits. Liaise with benefit providers and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll and benefits issues in a timely manner. Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, vacation balances, and benefits coverage. Assist with leave administration, pension/RRSP programs, and other employee compensation-related processes. Contribute to process improvements, reporting, and documentation related to payroll and benefits administration. Qualifications Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline. PCP is a significant asset. 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration. Strong knowledge of payroll processes, statutory deductions, and benefits administration. Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Excel. High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
