Job summary

Our client, Canada's leading marine transportation and shipbuilding organization, is seeking a Tax Manager who will oversee all aspects relating to the company’s tax requirements. Responsibilities: Tax Reporting & Filings: Prepare and analyze corporate and indirect tax reports, including annual, monthly, and periodic filings, while ensuring all submissions are accurate and completed on time. SR&ED Tax Credit Support: Assist with preparing the company’s annual Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit claim. Tax Provision Preparation: Prepare and review detailed tax provision working papers. Tax Systems & Controls: Maintain effective tax systems and internal controls, and coordinate tax accounting activities within the financial reporting team. Compliance Policies & Procedures: Develop and update tax compliance policies and procedures for federal, provincial, and foreign tax authorities in line with changing regulations and industry practices. Tax Forecasting: Build accurate tax forecasting models to help support business decision-making. Tax Planning Support: Contribute to tax planning initiatives for both the company and its parent organization to help achieve strategic goals. Requirements: CPA Completion of the CPA In-Depth tax program or Canadian MTax is a strong asset Minimum 6 years of related tax and accounting experience with at least 1 year in a corporate Tax Manager role Supervisory experience is an asset. Ideally public practice exposure within Big 8 Cross border tax proficiency Tax provisions experience SR&ED experience is an asset
