Job summary

Position Department: Office of General Counsel Position School: Administration: No School Overview: The Information Security Team is looking for a self-motivated, eager college student to join our team as an Information Security analyst. This role will assist the team with various Information Security tasks, from incident response and system hardening to framework documentation. The Information Security Analyst will support multiple teams within the Information Security and Information Technology departments throughout the summer and into the school year on various projects. Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the RMU IT and Information Security teams on day-to-day security tasks. Review and validate security documentation, assisting with testing and documenting security controls. Assist with security vulnerability scan results and reporting. Review, analyze, and report on system logs from numerous technologies. Conduct event analysis, threat hunting, and incident response. Participate in various security related projects and tasks as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Experience with or knowledge of email/domain security. Familiarity with Information Security topics such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, Information Security frameworks, SSO, and Encryption are helpful. Textbook knowledge in network and host analysis and IDS/IPS technology. Must be detail oriented, a team player, and willing to learn. Ability to work independently or as a part of a team. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and must possess strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skill. The ideal candidate will be proficient in multi-tasking and prioritizing projects.
