Position Department: UPMC Events Center Position School: Administration Overview: The Student Box Office Ticket Seller provides friendly, accurate customer service to guests purchasing or picking up tickets for Robert Morris University Athletics and other ticketed events at the UPMC Events Center and RMU Island Sports Center hockey arena. This is an entry-level student position. No previous ticketing experience is required, and all necessary Ticketmaster and box office training will be provided. Responsibilities: Sell tickets in person and by phone using the Ticketmaster ticketing system. Assist customers with ticket purchases, seating questions, mobile tickets, will-call and other basic ticketing needs. Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and follow established box office procedures. Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, fans, families and event guests. Assist with event-day box office operations before and during athletic events, including RMU hockey games at the RMU Island Sports Center, as well as basketball, concerts and other UPMC Events Center events. Help resolve basic ticket issues and refer more complex questions to the Director of Ticketing Operations or supervisor. Maintain an organized and professional box office work area. Follow University policies regarding cash handling, customer information, ticket inventory and workplace conduct. Complete opening and closing duties, including balancing assigned cash or transaction activity when required. Perform other ticketing and event support duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Must meet Robert Morris University student employment eligibility requirements. No prior box office, ticketing or customer service experience required. Friendly, dependable and comfortable interacting with the public. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn Ticketmaster and other ticketing tools. Ability to handle money and complete transactions accurately. Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team and ask questions when assistance is needed.
