Preview Proceed to Checkout Pay Later Cancel County Positions ◄ Back to All Categories County Lake Level Control Structure Operator The County Of Roscommon Is Accepting Applications From Qualified Individuals Interested In Serving As a Lake Level Control Structure Operator For Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake And Lake St. Helen. This Is a Part-time Position With Duties To Include: Responsible for day-to-day operations and controls of lake level structures on Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake and Lake St. Helen for the purpose of maintaining legal lake levels as established under provisions of Part 307, Inland Lake levels, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, PA 451 of 1994, as amended (MCL 324.30701-324.30722) Perform duties to include the operation and maintenance of water/lake level control structures owned and insured by the County of Roscommon Physical removal and replacement of boards and gates at each structure as necessary for maintaining court ordered levels Compilation of daily logbooks, as supplied by the Lake Level Committee, to track activity as related to monitoring and maintaining the legal lake levels on Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake and Lake St. Helen. Logbooks to be completed and emailed to Lake Level Committee weekly. Quarterly written or verbal report to the Board of Commissioners Applications can be completed and submitted to the Board of Commissioners by visiting the Administration Office at 500 Lake Street, Roscommon, MI 48653, between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
