We are looking for a General Manager to run the company’s day-to-day operating business, reporting directly to ownership. This is not a traditional property manager role. Property operations are part of the mandate, but the broader need is business leadership, accountability, and execution across the company. The successful candidate will be accountable for operating performance across the portfolio, including people, buildings, tenants, vendors, systems, maintenance accountability, capital planning support, and follow-through, while ownership remains focused on strategy, capital allocation, acquisitions, development, governance, and major relationships. This seat has not existed in this form before. The right person will bring structure, commercial judgment, accountability, and practical execution to a lean, owner-led business. The role You’ll take ownership of the company’s day-to-day operating performance. The General Manager sits between ownership, finance, maintenance, residential operations, leasing partners, vendors, and external advisors. The job is to make sure operating issues become clear priorities, clear recommendations, and completed work. You’ll lead a lean team across building operations, preventative maintenance, vendor and contract management, and operational planning. You’ll coordinate with leasing partners to ensure leasing activity, tenant commitments, and building operations are aligned, and you’ll work closely with finance on budgeting, reporting, and capital planning. We run Angus MRI and are committed to building a modern, tech-enabled operation. There is a foundation to build on and meaningful opportunity to improve systems, visibility, communication, and operational consistency across the portfolio. This is a role for someone who builds as much as they manage. Many of the systems, processes, and standards that will define how the company operates are still being refined, and you’ll define them. The successful candidate will be hands-on and comfortable moving between team leadership, building-level operations, vendor coordination, systems implementation, and owner-level priorities. Who we’re looking for You’ve run a business, a branch, a portfolio, or a meaningful operating function where results depended on your judgment and follow-through. You make decisions with the information you have and move things forward. You compare quotes, push vendors, set priorities, and close loops. Issues reach ownership as recommendations, not problems. You do what you say and you notice what others miss. You can distinguish between urgent operational risks, important long-term improvements, and lower-priority enhancements, and you keep the team focused on what matters most. You build teams that perform. You develop people, hold a high standard, and create an environment where accountability, communication, and good work are the norm. You care about the business the way an owner does. You take pride in buildings that are well kept, tenants who feel looked after, and a team that understands expectations and follows through consistently. Experience in real estate, property operations, building systems, or facilities management is an asset. Sound judgment, commercial discipline, people leadership, and integrity are the requirement. Compensation Senior-level compensation reflecting the scope of the mandate, with performance-based upside and room to grow as the business evolves.

Requirements
