Job Summary & Requirements The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. Education: Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BLS Certification Operating Room Course (including Clinical) Canadian Perioperative Nursing Certification an asset Coronary Care Course an asset CSAO Course an asset Experience: Current experience in active General Operating Room Experience in PACU an asset Experience in Surgical Nursing an asset Professional Association Membership Ability and experience demonstrated through positive attendance, performance appraisal and work history Competencies: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a team setting Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others and strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to maintain professional manner at all times, demonstrating flexibility, sound judgment and adaptability in decision making, problem solving and team building to function as an effective team member Clinical and leadership knowledge and experience consistent with a solid level of judgement, confidence, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others Computer literacy

What you’ll do

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Certificate of Competence from the CNO and BLS Certification. Experience in General Operating Room, PACU, or Surgical Nursing is required or considered an asset.
