Job Summary & Requirements RVH has the largest surgical program in the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN) with 65% of surgeons and approximately 80,000 surgical cases annually. As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements: Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area Functions independently within scope of practice Computer literacy in current software applications You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you have: Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision making skills Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care. Orthopedic/urology surgery experience and/or education (preferred)

Requirements
Requires a Registered Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent education, a recognized medication administration course, current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and current BCLS certification. Candidates should have nursing knowledge, computer literacy, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to professional development, continuous quality improvement, and customer service; orthopedic or urology surgery experience or education is preferred.
