Our teams support the ongoing operation of managed rental homes, including leasing, tenant placement, maintenance coordination, rent administration, and day-to-day property management. About The Role Royal York Property Management is hiring a Leasing Specialist to help lease homes within our portfolio of managed residential rentals. This is a field-based position where you will represent available properties, meet with prospective renters, conduct in-person appointments, answer questions, and help move suitable applicants through the leasing process. You will also act as an important connection between activity in the field and our internal teams by sharing feedback on prospect interest, property presentation, rental expectations, and factors that may be affecting vacancy. Compensation C$45,000–C$60,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based commission. Compensation will be based on experience, relevant background, and overall fit for the position. Key Responsibilities Attend scheduled leasing appointments at available properties within your assigned area. Represent Royal York professionally when meeting prospective renters. Learn the key details of each available home and communicate them clearly during appointments. Understand what prospective renters are looking for and determine how well the property matches their needs. Address questions or hesitation that may arise during the leasing process. Encourage qualified and interested prospects to continue to the application or offer stage. Maintain timely follow-up with prospective renters after appointments. Document appointment results, renter feedback, and leasing activity accurately. Provide internal teams with insight into common concerns, market response, and prospect behaviour. Check the general presentation of vacant properties while on-site and report concerns when necessary. Flag issues involving access, cleanliness, maintenance, or readiness that could interfere with leasing. Work with property management and leasing operations teams to help keep vacancies moving. Capture updated photos or short property videos when required. Assist with local rental promotion and other leasing-related initiatives as needed. What We're Looking For 1–3 years of relevant experience in leasing, real estate, property management, rental housing, or a customer-facing sales environment. Previous exposure to residential rental properties or housing-related sales is considered an asset. Comfortable meeting prospective renters face-to-face and leading conversations independently. Strong ability to build rapport, communicate value, and respond to questions or concerns. Confident following up with interested prospects and encouraging them to move forward. Organized and capable of managing multiple appointments, locations, and follow-ups throughout the day. Self-directed and comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday in the field. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable using smartphones, CRM systems, digital forms, and mobile applications. Familiarity with rental advertising, property photos, or social media marketing is an asset. Reliable vehicle required.
