RSM Canada is expanding our Business Tax practice. This group is focused on advising public and private multinational enterprises. Our professionals focus on our clients’ business and industry issues, collaborate on cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and optimize the core tax functions of our clients – all while delivering digitally-enabled business tax services in conjunction with our tax technology teams. As a Tax Supervisor for RSM you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development): Job Responsibilities Train and develop staff members Provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns Assist the assurance team with tax provision reviews and prepare and review tax provision working papers for non-assurance clients Manage risk for the client and the firm Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a client-centric manner Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and tax accounting Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law Some travel may be required Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in accounting or related field from an accredited university Four years of relevant Tax experience in a large accounting firm or similar firm/environment Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and in accordance with firm and client standards Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality of work in a fast paced, client service environment Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipment Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours including the ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites as required, including access to reliable transportation Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs Preferred Commitment to obtain a CPA or equivalent approved professional certification or designation Completed or enrolled in the CPA In-Depth Tax Courses (or equivalent) At RSM, we offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $73,000 - $126,400 Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and possess at least four years of relevant tax experience in a professional firm. Strong communication, project management, and technical tax skills are required, with a preference for CPA certification or enrollment in CPA In-Depth Tax courses.
