What You'll Do Operations * Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking * Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned * Confirm quantities of goods received and process incoming shipments accurately * Coordinate daily transportation needs with carriers and couriers, negotiating rates on both an ongoing contract and spot rate basis * Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries * Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required * Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies * Sort and distribute incoming shipments * Perform quality audits of incoming and outgoing goods prior to signing off * Ensure shipments contain proper documentation and complete item lists * Ensure that all outgoing products are prepared, packaged, and presented to the standard that reflects Russell Hendrix's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction * Problem-solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries * Safely and efficiently crate products in accordance with established procedures and standards * Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse area including the binning system * Adhere to all company policies and procedures and contribute to a healthy and safe workplace * Perform other related duties as required. Leadership * Act as the day-to-day funnel for departmental priorities, translating direction from the General Manager and Shop Foreman into clear task assignment for the team * Set the tone for the department, leading with consistency, calm, and a commitment to creating a stable and productive environment for direct reports * Onboard and train new team members, including cross-training from other departments as required * Provide ongoing performance feedback and support the development of direct reports * Coordinate team scheduling and coverage, ensuring that time off and holidays are managed to maintain operational continuity * Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and workflows, and make recommendations for a more efficient and streamlined operation * Support the team's ability to work effectively across both paper-based and computerized systems Where You'll Work This is a full-time, onsite role based at the Quest manufacturing facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You'll work across warehouse and manufacturing areas in a fast-paced environment, leading a small but essential team and ensuring that every product that leaves the facility meets the standard our customers expect. What You Bring Education and Experience * High school diploma or equivalent * 2+ years of experience in a shipping and receiving lead or supervisory role * 5+ years of experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environment * Demonstrated experience in crating, with the ability to confidently lead and train others in this function * Proven ability to negotiate carrier and courier rates on both an ongoing contract and spot rate basis * Experience working across both paper-based and computerized shipping and inventory systems, with the flexibility to learn new systems and recommend improvements Skills and Abilities * Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift * Working knowledge of safe packing methods * Computer literacy including working knowledge of Excel and email * Strong attention to detail across all aspects of shipping, receiving, crating, and documentation * Clear and effective communicator, comfortable working with management, direct reports, and external carriers * Leads with steadiness and consistency, creating a stable and productive environment for their team * Highly organized with strong time management and the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively * Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude * Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move items weighing 50–60 pounds Our Commitment to Inclusion Russell Hendrix welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
