Work Arrangement: Onsite Work Term: Winter 2027 (8 Months: Jan. 2027 - Aug. 2027) Work Location: Service Solution Centre at 2909 Plymouth Dr, Oakville, ON L6H 6G7 Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.70 - $36.40. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co-op work terms completed. Join Our Team as a PSS Electrical Engineering Assistant (Co-op)! The PSS Electrical Engineering Assistant is responsible for supporting power system projects through engineering design, technical documentation, and project coordination activities. The role also assists with commissioning, system implementation, and working with protection and control, SCADA, and distribution automation technologies. Key Responsibilities: * Understand the scope and customer requirements of the project and assist in defining the technical scope of work with S&C's lead engineers * Assist the engineering team in performing the development and execution of P&C and SCADA design activities on assigned projects. * Prepare AC DC schematic drawings and wiring diagrams. * Work with the project team to develop a technical specification for equipment and service to support the procurement process * Review shop drawings for technical conformity to project requirements * Write technical reports and proposals * Project management, coordination and scheduling * Attend meetings, prepare minutes of the meeting and follow up with action items * Assist in the facilitation of workshops and meetings to develop business processes * Document business processes based on output from workshops * Assist in providing installation, FAT, on-site commissioning and startup activities at the job sites as required by project scopes * Work with S&C's products, including communication devices and Distribution Automation control * Other administrative tasks as assigned What you’ll Need To Succeed: * 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering student available for an 8-month Co-op starting in Winter 2027. * Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills * Attention to detail * Fast learner with an aptitude for learning other company-specific software * Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel and Word * Experienced with Micro Station or AutoCAD * Familiar with relay programming, communication protocols, and protection logic concepts Physical Effort: Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs. Work Environment: Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events). Requirements
Candidates must be 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering students available for an 8-month co-op term. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and knowledge of protection logic and communication protocols are required.
