In this role you will act as the day-to-day anchor primarily for our plant employees, focusing heavily on core HR administration, employee services, payroll liaison, and standard operational support. Working closely with and receiving mentorship from our HR team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to solidify their HR fundamentals, master enterprise HR systems, and gain practical, resume-building experience in a dynamic production facility. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract based on-site at our Etobicoke manufacturing facility; we are looking for a new colleague ready to hit the ground running for the full duration. Headquartered in Etobicoke, Ontario Saand has over 4 decades of glass fabrication experience and has helped construct some of Ontario’s most iconic buildings. Duties & Responsibilities: * Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns fostering an open-door policy approach to support the well-being, health, and safety of employees. * Provide end-to-end employee service and support needs such leaves management program (LOA, STD, WSIB, LTD, maternity/parental, etc.) including regular follow-up to the employee, updates to supervisors about return to work and completes related administrative requirements. * Assist with plant-level recruitment by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and scheduling candidate interviews to support local staffing needs. * Provide support for on and offboarding processes e.g. new hire orientation, new hire surveys, exit interviews, and change forms of submissions. * Work closely with the production leadership teams to coordinate, track and maintain employee training records e.g. device certification, skill development, job progression, and employment milestones * Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records maintaining data integrity within ADP Workforce Now, eValuator safety learning management system, etc. * Partner closely with payroll by reviewing time and attendance records, changes, and resolving basic pay or benefit-enrollment inquiries. * Coordinate day-to-day plant recognition programs and support employee appreciation events. * Stay abreast of the latest employment and human resources best practices. * Assist the HR team with other interesting projects What we are looking for * Experience: 1 to 2 years of foundational HR experience, ideally gained through internships, co-ops, or early-career roles (exposure to a manufacturing or industrial environment is a strong asset, but a solid administrative background is welcome). * Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. * Systems & Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams) and hands-on familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms. * Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and administration, with a strict commitment to handling confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion. * Communication & Organization: Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills, with the ability to balance multiple administrative tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. * Cultural Enthusiasm & Growth Mindset: A positive, energetic attitude with a passion for boosting employee morale, absorbing mentorship, and mastering core HR operations. * Availability: in-person, 1- year fixed term maternity leave contract * Travel: minimal, as required to other plants Working Conditions: * The successful candidate is expected to work on-site providing HR support for all plants * Monday to Friday 40-hours work week; 1- afternoon/evening shift hours weekly * Preference for working in a highly collaborative, team environment * Safety first expectations in a casual, evolving culture Work Environment: As our HR Coordinator you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day human resources functions for a diverse client group of salary and hourly staff within the manufacturing facility.
