Job summary
TOGETHER, WE SAVE LIVES This position reports to the Quality Specialist and is responsible for QC inspections from incoming through to final inspections of outgoing orders. Documents and reports on any non-conforming materials/products and assists in investigating and resolving such issues. b - Responsibilities And Activities Quality Control (85% of time) Conducts incoming inspection, in-process and final inspection of products and materials Conducts inspection of shipment, creates and controls Certificates of Conformance Conducts first-off inspection of production set-ups Documents product issues and communicates clearly to various personnel Assists in creating inspection instructions, records and quality documentation for products Assists in collecting data, such as inspection and test results, to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and inspection/test techniques Generates weekly/monthly reports based on Quality results. Corrective Action Support (15% of time) Responsible for inspection of return materials entering and leaving the Pembroke facility. Assists Customer Service in Ottawa facility by participating in root cause investigations on customer complaints and faulty products Initiates NCR’s for inspection issues Education and Training Technical certificate/diploma in textile, mechanical, electronic or equivalent discipline, or combination of MES product knowledge and experience preferred. Health and Safety Training preferred. ASQ certification as Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and/or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred. Experience 1-3 years experience in a quality inspection function in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment. Experience in the use of inspection, measuring and test tools, and calibration practices and equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Exposure to statistical process control (control charts) in a manufacturing environment. Other Skills and Abilities Attention to detail. Strong decision making skills. Independently manage and organize multiple work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities. Excellent people/team skills with an ability to work cooperatively. Ability to describe or explain information and relay instructions to others. Ability to organize, document and present information. Interpret technical documents such as drawings and schematic diagrams. Functional computer skills including spreadsheets and databases.
