Location: Remote – Alberta, Canada Employment Type: 1-Year T4A Contract (Potential for Extension) About the Opportunity We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data engineering professional with strong expertise in Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and modern cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate is an end-to-end data engineer with experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions. They should also have a solid understanding of solution architecture and experience working across multi-cloud environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms using Databricks and Azure technologies. Build end-to-end data engineering solutions, from data ingestion and transformation to analytics-ready datasets. Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering best practices. Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions. Contribute to solution architecture and cloud design discussions. Develop and support enterprise-grade data platforms across multi-cloud environments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability. Ensure data solutions meet security, governance, and scalability requirements. Required Qualifications Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer. Mandatory hands-on experience with Databricks. Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services. Solid understanding of data architecture and solution design. Experience building end-to-end data engineering solutions. Hands-on experience working in multi-cloud environments. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and modern data engineering tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or similar Azure data services. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code. Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures.
