Job summary

Job Title: Machine Operator Note: This role is available on Day Shift and Night Shift. A Night Shift Premium of $2.20 is paid for every hour worked Pay Range: $22.70 -$25.80 Job Summary As a Machine Operator, you will operate various machines in the fabrication department. Responsibility Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings (blueprints), and/or work orders. Operate, and monitor machinery with minimal supervision to ensure proper functioning and production output. Operate small hand tools, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job's needs. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and adjust as needed. Record Production data and maintain logs to track machine performance and output. Inspect finished products for adherence to specifications and quality standards; identify and address any defects or issues. Assisting with routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance; identify and report any mechanical issues to the fabrication supervisor. Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures. Other duties as assigned by the lead hand or supervisor. Academic/Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred Required Skills/Experience Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as 5S would be considered an asset. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Basic math skills and proficiency in using measuring tools. Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Ability to troubleshoot by identifying mechanical errors. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided) Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
