Job Description: Operations & Finance Manager About Sapsucker: The Lower Valley Beverage Company (Sapsucker) is a venture capital-backed beverage start-up that provides consumers with organic, plant-based beverages that are sustainable, naturally sourced, and taste delicious. The subtle bubble and slightest hint of natural sweetness make it delicious, easy to drink and ‘unexpectedly’ refreshing. Sapsucker is plant-based and powered by 46 naturally occurring minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It is available in 7 flavours: The Original One, The Lemon One, The Lime One, The Orange One, The Peach One, The Blackberry One and The Grapefruit One. Sapsucker is tapped in Canada and sustainably sourced. What we are looking for: We are looking for an individual to come in and lead our Operations & Finance functions through a period of high growth. Collaborating with and reporting directly to the CEO, you will have the opportunity to shape processes and consult on strategies for future growth and innovation. This role is 80% operations and 20% finance. We are essentially looking for a “swiss army knife” to support our scaling business. This individual will drive optimization and shape key aspects of the CPG business, including but not limited to demand planning & forecasting, product management, and sales operations and fostering a culture of data-driven decision making. In this role, you will be: Operations Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing needs of the organization Identify and maintain relationships with vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, (inclusive of co-packing manufactures) Coordinate shipments of raw materials and finished goods between warehouses, copackers, and customers Manage logistics carriers and conduct ongoing RFPs to gain cost efficiencies on high volume lanes Manage production demand planning & forecasting Manage inventory levels of finished goods and raw materials at appropriate par stock levels (economic order quantities) Project manage all innovation activities from product development to commercial execution Manage all activities on ERP system (Dear Systems) Oversee outsourced operations support staff Manage relationship with 3PL and oversee logistics, e-commerce shipments and year-end inventory counts. Manage product development, production and logistics related to Costco business Manage monthly/annual regulatory filings, including but not limited to recycling, non-GMO certification, Organic Certification etc. Finance: Oversee outsourced bookkeeping and accounting team of two Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements and deliver timely reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors Own the costing of all products/skus. Ensuring profitability of the distribution through monthly analysis of channel P&Ls Supporting our Sales and Marketing teams, providing forecasting, projections, analysis and insights on both a cadenced and ad hoc basis Support with Grant applications and SHRED fillings AR/AP management Cashflow forecasting and management Maintaining and updating 3-statement financial model for internal forecasting and fundraising purposes Oversee quarterly HST filings and WSIB fillings Manage relationship with audit firm during year-end NTR and corporation tax filing process Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, or economics CPA ideal or equivalent experience Experience within a CPG environment preferred and considered a strong asset. Project Management experience Experience working with ERP systems and accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online. Advanced analytical skills: demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand Must enjoy working independently and in a team environment.
