Job summary
Description Responsibilities may include the following: Lead the design of transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range. Serve as a subject matter specialist in 500kV and 765kV transmission lines Mentor and train less experienced design team members. Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats. Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations, drawing preparation, and transmission line models based in PLS-CADD. Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week. Qualifications We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada for this position. This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. As such, candidates must be a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Please click here to determine your eligibility. Essential skills and experience: BS degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program. 12 years of transmission design experience. 3 or more years of experience in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design Familiarity with the electrical considerations for 765kV transmission lines Proficiency with PLS-CADD software. Experience must include preparation of scopes of work, development of conceptual designs, determination of design basis, the selection of equipment and materials, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications. Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines from 69kV through 765kV. Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI. Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.
