Manager, Grants & Special Projects

The Manager has several direct reports located across the various Saskatchewan Polytechnic locations. The Manager will be responsible for all elements of the employee life cycle for faculty and staff in their program areas (staffing, recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and development). The Manager is responsible for monitoring the fiscal resources and recommending efficiencies within the assigned programs. General Accountability Based at any campus, the Manager, Grants and Special Projects is accountable to the Director, Training Solutions. The Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, and management of proposal writing and grant development as well as the implementation and integration of special projects for the Centre for Continuing Education. This will be achieved through maintaining effective links between the AVP’s, Deans, Associate Deans and Directors. The Manager will oversee the implementation and coordination of broad-scale special projects programming for the Centre. The Manager will also be responsible for maintaining effective links with business sectors, industry, government, accrediting agencies, and other educational institutions. The Manager will be responsible for scoping and implementing special projects that complement and build on each other towards achieving one or more long-term business goals of the Centre. This individual will be required to assess and ensure requisite staffing levels and skill sets, identify, obtain, and monitor funding requirements, identify, and manage risk factors and ensure the appropriate management of portfolio activity. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Administration, Marketing, or Adult Education from a recognized university or post-secondary institution. The successful applicant will have five years’ relevant experience at the management level. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience managing in a unionized environment and supervising employees would be considered an asset. Ability to travel within Saskatchewan and occasionally out of province is required.

The Manager leads proposal writing and grant development while overseeing the implementation of special projects for the Centre for Continuing Education. They are also responsible for the full employee life cycle of faculty and staff and managing fiscal resources.

A bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Administration, Marketing, or Adult Education is required. Candidates must have five years of relevant management experience, with experience in unionized environments considered an asset.
