What you’ll do The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, support the audit process and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position provides timely and reliable financial information for decision-making and for the effective operation of various program areas. In addition, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the analysis, reconciliation and recording of investments. What you’ll bring Undergraduate degree with an accounting major; combined with 4-5 years of progressively responsible experience. Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards (IFRS, ASPE, Non-profit organizations and Pensions). Knowledge of accounting and report writing systems and ability to effectively use Microsoft applications. Knowledge of accounting for investments. Demonstrated knowledge of institutional investments. Demonstrated organizational skills in organizing own work. Demonstrated ability to effectively handle work requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative in undertaking assignments and completing work within strict timelines. Demonstrated application of analytical and problem-solving skills. Superior interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
