Scale-Up Electrochemical Inc. is a materials science and systems innovation company developing two complementary platforms. Solid-state battery technology: We are advancing solid-state batteries (composite polymer electrolytes, high-nickel cathodes, metallic anodes). Our work targets scalable cell architectures for electric vehicles and grid energy storage. Climate-resilient agrivoltaic systems: We design and deploy off-grid platforms that integrate solar energy, precision irrigation, livestock production and circular processing to strengthen food security in water- and energy-constrained regions. Active pilot farm in Botswana: We operate a 22-hectare pilot farm in the Kweneng District that already includes a solar-powered borehole, drip-irrigated high-yield fodder (Brachiaria and Super Napier), seasonal crop production and a mixed livestock base of cattle, sheep, goats and poultry. This site serves as the proof of concept for our agrivoltaic and circular-agriculture systems. We are supported by the University of Calgary Innovation Sandbox (Hunter Hub), which provides access to analytical infrastructure, technical networks and entrepreneurial resources. Our approach combines deep technical R&D with practical, field-ready system design at the intersection of advanced materials, energy infrastructure and agricultural resilience.
