Posting Number: T7-4069778 - Round 1 Description: Career Education 7-9, Social Studies 10, Contract Teacher Teaching on Call 7-12 Location: Elkford Secondary School, Elkford, BC Contract Type: Full-time Temporary (1.0 FTE) Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package and pension. Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay). Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting. Job Summary Career Education 7-9, Social Studies 10, Contract Teacher Teaching on Call, 7-12 1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting October 2, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027, or return of the incumbent. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Secondary level. Must have teaching experience in Career Education and Social Studies. This position is schedules for 1 block of Career Education 7/8, 1 block of Career Education 9, 1 block of Social Studies 10 and 1 block as a Contract Teacher Teaching on Call, Grades 7-12. Please note that all work will be on site. Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting. Requirements

Applicants must have a degree, formal training, and/or teaching experience relevant to the subjects and grade levels, including secondary-level experience in Career Education and Social Studies. British Columbia Teacher Certification is preferred.
