Posting Number: T7-4069757 - Round 1 Description: Humanities Teacher, Grades 8-9 Location: Parkland Middle School, Cranbrook, BC Contract Type: Part-time Temporary (0.571 FTE) Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $40,193 to $67,726, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package and pension. Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay). Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting. Job Summary Humanities Teacher, Grades 8-9 0.571 FTE temporary contract, starting October 2, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to November 30, 2026, or return of the incumbent. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Intermediate level. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience in Humanities. This position is scheduled to include 2 blocks of Social Studies 8 and 2 blocks of Social Studies 9. Please note that all work will be on site. Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
