POSTED: August 10th, 2026 CLOSING DATE: August 17th, 2026 COMPETITION: 2026-47 English Teacher Full-Time (1.00 FTE), Term position Rockridge Secondary School Effective September 8th, 2026 until June 30th, 2027 The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications And Experience Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching English. Solid understanding of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and Learning Standards for English studies. The successful candidate will be able to explore Indigenous literature and themes; encourage critical, creative, and reflective thought regarding Canada's First Peoples; as well as collaborate with colleagues to build upon established units. Ability to evaluate and report on student progress using International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP assessment standards and practices. A willingness to work collaboratively with the IB MYP Coordinator and other classroom teachers to authentically develop IB MYP units of study. A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum. An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners. A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills. Strong communication skills.
