The Role As a Senior Data Architect, you will define and govern the HR data architecture for modern Azure and Databricks based data platforms supporting Scotiabank's global HR technology landscape. You will provide architecture leadership across strategic HR initiatives, establish data architecture standards and patterns, lead architecture reviews, and influence technology decisions that enable scalable, secure, and data driven solutions. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: Define and govern HR data architecture, design standards, and enterprise data patterns for modern cloud data platforms. Design scalable data models, Lakehouse architectures, and end to end solutions that support analytics, reporting, and integrations. Lead architecture decisions across ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers. Ensure solutions meet security, governance, privacy, resilience, and performance requirements for global enterprise use. Partner with engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to translate business needs into strategic data solutions. Review solution designs, mentor architects, engineers, and technical leads, and promote architectural excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead architecture reviews, drive adoption of enterprise data standards, and provide guidance on strategic technology decisions across HR data initiatives. Partner with business leaders, senior stakeholders, and technology teams to align architecture decisions with business priorities and long term technology strategy. What You Will Bring to Succeed Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of experience designing and delivering large scale data platforms and architecture solutions, including ownership of architecture standards and governance. Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling. Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, SQL, and modern data engineering practices for large scale analytics and data platforms. Experience with Azure data services, including ADF and ADLS Gen2. Experience with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, cataloging, and data modeling practices. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead architecture discussions, and communicate effectively with both business and technology audiences. What’s in it for you?
