Job summary
Position: Site Superintendent Location: Edmonton Salary: $130,000 to $145,000 (Major Projects) | $110,000 to $130,000 (Smaller Project) The Opportunity A growing Western Canadian construction organization is hiring Site Superintendents to lead the field delivery of major multi-storey projects in Calgary. The work includes large concrete seniors-care, retirement-living and institutional buildings, together with one smaller charitable project that may suit a senior foreman ready to step into a Superintendent role. You will take day-to-day responsibility for an assigned site while working closely with a dedicated Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Construction Manager. Major projects typically range from approximately $85 million to $200 million and include four to eight-storey concrete structures, parking, complex mechanical and electrical systems, commercial kitchens, life-safety infrastructure and operationally sensitive spaces. This organization operates collaboratively. The Superintendent leads the site, but major cost and sequencing decisions are made with the broader project team. The environment is best suited to a confident, practical leader who does not rely on a territorial “my site” approach. What You Will Do Lead daily site operations, trade coordination, logistics, safety, quality and schedule execution. Plan short-term work and coordinate manpower, deliveries, access, inspections and sequencing. Partner with the Project Manager and Construction Manager on cost, schedule and major field decisions. Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve field issues proactively. Maintain site reports, photographs, progress records and project controls in Procore. Use Microsoft Project and look-ahead planning to maintain milestones. Lead field staff and maintain a respectful, accountable site culture. Support testing, commissioning, deficiencies and turnover. What You Bring Experience leading multi-storey construction sites, ideally on concrete projects. Full-cycle field experience from excavation and structure through interiors, commissioning and turnover. Background in long-term care, retirement living, healthcare, institutional, high-rise or large multi-family construction is preferred. Experience on projects valued at $45 million to $50 million or more is desirable for the major-project openings. Working knowledge of Procore and Microsoft Project. Strong trade leadership, sequencing, logistics and quality-control capability. A collaborative, calm and non-territorial leadership style. Additional Development Opportunity One Edmonton assignment is a charitable temple project valued at approximately $14 million to $15 million. For this opening, an experienced senior foreman or emerging Superintendent with strong leadership skills may be considered. Why Consider This Role? Large, technically complex projects and visible field leadership responsibility. A well-supported project structure with regular Construction Manager involvement. A collaborative culture with direct access to senior decision-makers. Relocation support available for qualified candidates. Employer benefits and an RRSP program. Long-term work pipeline across Alberta. Compensation Transparency For the major-project Superintendent openings, the expected base salary range is $130,000 to $145,000 annually. For the smaller temple-project opportunity, the expected base salary range is $110,000 to $130,000 annually. Final compensation will depend on experience, project history, qualifications and assignment. A modest fuel allowance and relocation support may be available. No company truck is provided.
