The Edmonton Islamic Academy (EIA) is a growing and dynamic school community. Working at EIA provides opportunities for both personal and professional growth. We are a large Pre-K to Grade 12 school serving more than 1,400 students while maintaining a welcoming, small-school community atmosphere. Currently seeking Substitute Arabic and Islamic Studies Teachers to join our team. Responsibilities Assume the responsibilities of the Arabic or Islamic Studies Teacher when the regular teacher is absent Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate effectively with classroom teachers, colleagues, administration, and students Deliver prepared course content and provide academic support and student supervision throughout the school day Maintain appropriate classroom management and support a positive learning environment Maintain and respect the confidentiality of student, staff, and school information Follow and support all school policies, procedures, and expectations Perform other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or Assistant Principal Qualifications And Requirements Ability to adapt to a changing environment with a flexible, versatile, and positive approach to new assignments Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with administration, students, staff, and parents Ability to effectively deliver pre-planned lessons and support the Alberta Education curriculum Strong classroom management skills Respect for and understanding of Islamic faith, values, and culture Required Documents Upon initial acceptance, successful candidates will be required to provide the following: Updated resume Valid Teaching Certificate Copies of degree and transcripts Evaluation/TQS Reference letters Valid First Aid Certificate Recent Criminal Record Check Recent Intervention Record Check Edmonton Islamic Academy welcomes qualified candidates who are committed to supporting students and contributing positively to our school community.
