Job summary

Purpose Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Batching Operator mixes large quantities of raw materials to cook sauces, condiments, and salad dressings. The Batching Operator follows all batching processes, which include interpreting formulas, mass ingredient measurement and product mixing on multiple batching stations. The Batching Operator follows all customer specifications and food safety standards and health and safety practices according to Company standards. Responsibilities * Check schedules and report to assigned batching station * Commence pre-operation inspections and safety inspections, conforming with company’s good manufacturing practices * Assemble and connect hoses, checking to ensure they are fully clean before use * Turn on machinery, program ingredients on HMI program * Retrieve required spices and ingredients from Spice Preparers and Material Handlers * Confirm quantity of ingredients needed, using light mental math or a calculator * Cook assigned sauces while adhering to critical control point measures by taking samples to the quality assurance lab as required * Transfer finished product to holding tanks or send product to filling machines * Quickly reset and re-start process for next batches * Perform cleaning in place (CIP) processes for product changeovers * Meet targets, by ensuring efficiency and safety protocols are met * Continuous communicate with Material Handlers to ensure that any heavy ingredients are picked up when not needed, keeping a clean, organized station * Learn and operate proficiently on multiple batching stations * Assist other Cooks on several platforms as needed Working & Physical Conditions * Lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs * Long standing hours, at heights of up to 15 feet * High noise levels, ear protection provided if requested * Exposure to temperature changes, heat, humidity, and cold depending on cooking cycles * Exposure to dust, allergens, and strong scents Qualifications * Experience in food manufacturing, minimum 6 months, required * Minimum High School Diploma, required * Experience in cooking, preferred * Experience operating lift truck, preferred * Willingness to learn * Able to understand and interpret HMI systems Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm Shift may go longer due to business needs

Requirements
