Role Summary The successful applicant will work collaboratively with Polymeric Membrane Fabrication, Process Engineering, and Product Development teams to plan and execute research activities focused on creating and developing membrane-based separation technologies intended for use in the food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and carbon capture industries. The successful applicant will be involved in conducting research experiments, modelling product performance, communicating results, and other activities required to rapidly advance the company’s product roadmaps. The role will require the applicant to; · Work collaboratively with local and international teams of scientists and engineers to drive research and development projects to successful completion. · Independently carry out physical and chemical characterizations, process optimization, and scale-up activities in support of the company’s product development efforts. · Carry out market research and modelling activities to identify and characterize market opportunities for Seppure’s current and proposed technologies. · Support management in securing and managing non-dilutive funding. · Proficiently, reliably, and safely operate and maintain laboratory equipment · Accurately record and communicate research results in the form of lab books, group presentations and technical reports. · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific literature in the fields of chemical separation and nanofiltration. · Other tasks as assigned by the applicant’s supervisor. Requirements and Qualifications · A MSc degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer, Material Science and Engineering, or related disciplines or a BSc and greater than two years’ experience in one these fields · Research or work experience related to operating or developing filtration technologies will be considered a strong asset. · A demonstrated ability to independently and successfully design, carry-out, and analyze research projects focused on product development. · Preference will be given to candidates with experience in techno-economic modelling and process modelling in the field of separation science. · Preference will be given to candidates with strong understanding of technologies and market details of the carbon capture industry. · Demonstrated ability to work and effectively communicate (written & oral) in English · Self-motivated, resourceful, and efficient in managing and executing multiple projects.
