Job Title Child Care Assessor / Representative (Hybrid) – Government of Alberta Processing Centre Advisor – Child Care Programs Location Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta (Hybrid) Client Government of Alberta – Education and Childcare Employment Type Contract Positions 8 Job Summary The Government of Alberta is hiring Child Care Assessors/Representatives to support the delivery of Alberta's Child Care Subsidy Program, Child Care Family Portal, and Canada-Alberta Early Learning and Child Care initiatives. This client-focused role involves assessing applications, determining eligibility, providing customer support, resolving complex issues, and ensuring accurate program administration while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with government policies. Key Responsibilities Review, assess, and process child care subsidy applications, renewals, and amendments. Determine client eligibility by reviewing financial and supporting documentation. Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and online channels. Guide families and childcare providers through program requirements and online services. Investigate and resolve application, eligibility, payment, and system-related issues. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with privacy and information management standards. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. Support operational improvements, testing, training, and special projects. Deliver professional, empathetic, and client-focused service. Requirements Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years of customer service and/or retail experience. Minimum 2 years researching documentation to determine appropriate resolutions. Minimum 3 years working in a fast-paced environment. Minimum 3 years prioritizing work in a complex environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and legislation. Experience handling confidential information professionally. Preferred Qualifications Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Office Administration or a related field. Experience navigating multiple computer systems simultaneously. Call centre/customer support experience. Government, benefits administration, or eligibility assessment experience. Experience supporting clients through complex or sensitive situations. 4+ years of experience in a similar administrative or assessment role. Work Schedule 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time) Hybrid work arrangement Candidates must reside within one hour of Calgary or Edmonton Office attendance may be required up to 5 days per week based on operational needs.
