Job details

About Setara Logistics Setara Logistics is a GTA-based freight-forwarding and logistics company coordinating air, ocean and ground transportation for businesses. Our services include FCL and LCL ocean freight, air freight, trucking and intermodal transportation, with support from overseas agents and transportation partners. We focus on clear communication, practical shipping solutions and accountability from pickup through final delivery. Our affiliated trucking business, Setara Transport, complements our forwarding services with container drayage and full-truckload support. We’re looking for an experienced freight professional who takes ownership of customer shipments and wants to help build an organized, service-focused operation. Position Overview The Ground & Intermodal Freight Coordinator manages customers’ road and rail-intermodal shipments from quotation through delivery and file closeout. The role includes full-truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), standalone drayage and combined rail-and-truck movements. You will arrange transportation through suitable carriers and service providers, acting as the customer’s primary operational contact. This is a freight-forwarding role, not primarily a company-fleet dispatcher position. Key Responsibilities Review customer requirements, including cargo, equipment, pickup and delivery locations, timing and special handling needs. Assess road and intermodal options against customer service requirements and total transportation cost. Source suitable carriers and service providers, negotiate rates and prepare customer quotations with clear scope and margins. Follow carrier-verification, insurance-documentation, onboarding and fraud-prevention procedures. Arrange FTL, LTL, drayage and rail-intermodal bookings, including associated pickup and final-mile services. Coordinate appointments, shipping instructions, bills of lading, terminal requirements and delivery arrangements. Monitor shipment progress, terminal availability, free time and empty-container returns where applicable. Resolve delays, missed appointments, capacity issues and other service exceptions. Communicate proactively with customers, carriers, terminals, warehouses and customs brokers where required. Confirm accessorial charges and obtain required approvals before additional commitments. Collect proof of delivery, check carrier invoices and prepare accurate billing information. Maintain current shipment records, next actions and backup coverage. When using Setara Transport, coordinate the service request with dispatch while dispatch retains responsibility for driver and equipment assignment. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in a freight-forwarding, freight brokerage or 3PL operation coordinating customer freight. Practical knowledge of FTL/LTL transportation, carrier sourcing, equipment requirements and shipment costing. Experience coordinating rail-intermodal or container movements, including connected truck services. Ability to manage shipments independently from inquiry through delivery and billing readiness. Strong negotiation, customer-service, organization and problem-solving skills. Experience with transportation-management systems, carrier portals and spreadsheets. Success in This Role Reliable pickup and delivery coordination, suitable carrier selection, accurate pricing, proactive exception management and complete shipment and billing records.
