Dimensional Inspector – Naval Structural Fabrication We currently have an urgent requirement for an experienced Dimensional Inspector supporting a major naval shipbuilding program in Quebec, Canada. Location: Shipyard, Quebec, Canada Employment: Full‑time, Onsite, 1‑year renewable assignment Language- bilingual (French/English) Role Overview: This is a specialized dimensional control and 3D metrology role supporting naval structural fabrication activities within a shipyard environment. The position requires hands-on experience with high-precision 3D measurement systems used for large structural assemblies and ship block fabrication. Scope of Work: Carry out dimensional inspections throughout all stages of naval structural fabrication Perform inspections on panel lines, sub-assemblies, and 2D/3D assemblies Release components for welding activities Perform 3D dimensional inspections and structural geometry verification Carry out erection mapping to scribe green material and ensure optimal fit-up Verify alignment and dimensional compliance during fabrication and assembly stages Coordinate with fabrication, engineering, QA, and production teams Mandatory Requirements: Extensive experience with 3D measurement systems such as: Laser Tracker Total Station Laser Scanner Hands-on dimensional control / accuracy control experience within: Shipyards Naval fabrication Marine / offshore structural fabrication Large steel structure fabrication Proficiency in: Spatial Analyzer (SA) AutoCAD PolyWorks or similar metrology/CAD applications Strong understanding of large assembly fit-up, alignment verification, and erection mapping If interested, kindly share the following at sonal.sharma@sgs.com: Updated CV Current location Current & expected salary Availability / notice period Kindly send your updated details at the earliest for further evaluation.

The Dimensional Inspector will carry out dimensional inspections throughout all stages of naval structural fabrication, including inspections on panel lines and sub-assemblies. They will also verify alignment and dimensional compliance during fabrication and assembly stages.

Candidates must have extensive experience with 3D measurement systems and hands-on dimensional control experience within shipyards or naval fabrication. Proficiency in relevant software and a strong understanding of large assembly fit-up and alignment verification is also required.
