Job Description Work with engineers, technologists and trades people to help our clients succeed in the construction of critical oil and gas infrastructure projects. Conduct welder performance qualification testing under the supervision of the Welding Services Supervisor. Assist with interpreting regulatory and statutory requirements, codes and customer specifications relating to fabrication, welding and materials. Monitor welding parameters, and write procedure qualification records and welding procedure specifications under the direction of the Welding Services Supervisor. Prepare in-house work orders that communicate testing requirements to other departments and maintain traceability of samples and associated documentation under the direction of the Welding Services Supervisor. Assist with interpreting laboratory test report results under the direction of the Welding Services Supervisor. Assist clients with the implementation welding processes and technologies. Perform routine maintenance on various welding machines and general shop upkeep. Perform welding and torch cutting as directed by the Welding Services Supervisor. Keep a clean working environment. Work in compliance with safety regulations. Participate in quality improvement and cost reduction efforts. May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed. Qualifications Education: High School graduate required Experience - 1-3 years Valid CSA W178.2 Level 1 welding inspector certification is required. Valid CSA W178.2 Level 2 or 3 welding inspector certification is an asset (not required). ABSA welding examiner certification is required. Journeyman Welder or ABSA Grade B Pressure Welder Certification is an asset (not required). Eligibility for T.T., C.Tech. or C.E.T. professional designation with ASET is an asset (not required).
