SMS Equipment is looking for two Inventory Coordinators to join our Mining Parts Support team. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day inventory transactions and control support, ensuring inventory availability, accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service for both internal and external customers. Work Location: Acheson, Alberta. Salary: Based on experience. Work Arrangement: Hybrid, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week. Schedule: Monday to Friday. What You'll Do: * Create and manage inventory purchase orders across multiple vendors and product groups to maintain inventory levels and stock turns. * Monitor supplier lead times, purchase orders, and backorders while coordinating order upgrades and expediting deliveries when required. * Review inventory levels and scheduled orders to help prevent shortages and excess inventory. * Review and approve interbranch transfer requests while balancing inventory requirements and supporting branch and customer needs. * Participate in inventory optimization initiatives, including surplus inventory transfers and location utilization reviews. * Monitor open transfers and coordinate with warehouses and branches to ensure timely completion. * Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping partners to resolve shipment issues and delays. * Maintain inventory integrity by supporting inventory protection controls, investigating inventory discrepancies, and resolving inventory location issues. * Process inventory adjustments and cycle counts while supporting compliance requirements and annual inventory counts. * Coordinate inventory count activities, including reporting and reconciliation efforts, with occasional travel to branch or customer locations as required. * Manage customer and vendor returns, including return authorizations, credits, and documentation requirements. * Administer supplier claims and ensure accurate documentation, follow-up, and resolution. * Support the team through cross-functional collaboration and additional duties as assigned. What You Bring: The successful candidate has experience working in a heavy equipment dealership parts department and inventory environment, along with supply chain-related education or a Parts Technician Journeyperson background. They demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a customer-focused approach to their work. Other requirements include: * Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent time management, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. * Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. * A positive attitude and commitment to building strong working relationships.
