Role Overview We are looking for a Senior or Principal Underground Mining Engineer to join our North American team. You will be collaborative towards delivering high-quality solutions and results to Snowden Optiro clients. The candidate should have operational experience and preferably some previous consulting experience. To ensure technical delivery of projects, the candidate should have experience completing underground stope optimization analyses, development and stope design, economic analysis, and be able to develop technical reports for a variety of project execution stages including scoping, preliminary economic analysis, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies. The candidate will demonstrate credible professional levels of work outputs, maintain, build and further develop client relationships as part of project delivery and business development. Ideally the candidate will have experience in a variety of underground mining methods. Snowden Optiro’s teams specialize in Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates and bring in trusted specialized discipline leads to assist with key modifying factors as needed. The candidate will be able to work with the other disciplines to complete Ore/Mineral Reserve estimates, due diligence, cost estimates, reporting to NI 43-101, S-K 1300, and similar reporting standards. Key Responsibilities Contribute strong technical expertise across a range of underground mining methods and environments Provide consulting support and practical engineering solutions Project manage other disciplines to provide necessary information for the Mineral Reserve estimate Deliver high-quality reports, presentation and project documentation Support company-wide project activities and uphold Snowden Optiro’s values and standards Qualifications and Experience P.Eng designation or in process of completing certification Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mining engineering 10+ years of experience in underground mining with strong technical and practical focus Demonstrated capacity to work independently, coupled with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or professional services environment. Willingness to travel as required. Technical Skills (Preferred) Datamine and MSO Design and scheduling software Cost modelling experience Behavioural Profile Client-focused and service-oriented. Structured, organised, and detail-oriented. Able to manage multiple priorities and projects. Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-driven. Collaborative team player across technical and advisory teams.
