Role Description: This is a part-time Contract Landman role based in Calgary, AB with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work from home. The Contract Landman will review, negotiate, and draft land agreements, including leases, surface rights, and joint operating agreements. Tasks include title and mineral rights research, due diligence on ownership and encumbrances, and preparation of accurate land files and documentation. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners to resolve land-related issues, support acquisitions and divestitures, and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. The Contract Landman will also maintain organized records, track key deadlines, and provide clear summaries and recommendations to management. Qualifications: Strong land and contract management skills, including experience with leases, surface rights, joint ventures, and related agreements. Proficiency in title research, mineral rights verification, due diligence, and land records maintenance. Knowledge of oil and gas operations and regulatory frameworks in Alberta and Western Canada. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including working independently from home and in the Calgary office as required. Experience as a Landman or Contract Land professional in the energy sector is preferred. Relevant post-secondary education in land administration, energy management, business, or a related field is an asset.
