Soroc is seeking a Infrastructure Project Manager on contract for one of our Utilities client in Calgary, Alberta Client: Utilities Location: Onsite, Calgary, Alberta Position Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure upgrade initiatives within a utilities environment in Alberta, Canada. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end project delivery, with a strong focus on Windows upgrade projects, enterprise infrastructure modernization, and utility-specific operational technology (OT) integration. This role requires a seasoned professional with proven leadership in large-scale, cross-functional projects and a strong track record of delivery excellence. Key Responsibilities • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure upgrade projects, including Windows operating system upgrades and related enterprise application transitions. • Manage full project lifecycle activities including initiation, scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and closure. • Coordinate with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external service providers to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), and status reporting. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality standards and regulatory requirements. • Oversee change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, and training coordination. • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as required to governance bodies. • Ensure adherence to organizational project management methodologies and governance frameworks. • Support procurement activities including RFPs, vendor selection, and contract management. • Provide clear and concise reporting to senior leadership and steering committees. • Manage multiple concurrent projects where required. Required Qualifications • Minimum 10 years of progressive project management experience. • Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure upgrade projects (e.g., server, network, desktop, and application upgrades). • Strong experience delivering Windows upgrade initiatives (e.g., Windows 10/11 enterprise rollouts or similar). • Proven experience working in a utilities environment (electric, gas, water, or related regulated industry). • Solid understanding of enterprise IT environments and infrastructure dependencies. • Experience with project management frameworks such as PMI, Agile, or hybrid delivery models. • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills. • Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects with multiple workstreams. Preferred Qualifications • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a strong nice-to-have. • Experience working in regulated environments with compliance and governance requirements. • Experience with OT/IT convergence projects in utilities (SCADA, control systems, or similar). • Familiarity with infrastructure modernization programs (data centers, virtualization, cloud migration).
