Permanent Full-Time Speech-Language Pathology Support Worker (OOS)

The South East Cornerstone Public School Division is looking for a Speech-Language Pathology Support Worker to join its team. Reporting to the Speech and Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Support Worker provides remedial intervention supports to school-aged children, within the school setting. SLP Support Workers work under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals or agencies to support student success in learning. This position will service Hillcrest, Spruce Ridge and Oxbow Prairie Horizons Schools located in Estevan and Oxbow, SK. Term Start: September 2nd, 2026 End: Not Applicable Tenure Continuing Hours Of Work 7.5 hours per day/37.5 hours per week Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience Post-secondary degree or diploma in applicable field from a recognized post-secondary institution Experience in supporting children within a school setting Experience in speech and language services is an asset Knowledge of speech and language intervention strategies Documentation, reporting and data collection experience is required Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License, a clean driving record, willing and able to travel Required Skills And Abilities Commitment to inclusive and collaborative learning Clean current criminal record and vulnerable sector checks upon hiring Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to school division operations Demonstrated ability to establish a strong rapport with students, families and school personnel Demonstrated ability to work as a team player Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Proficiency in the applications and operations of digital tools and technology Strong interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused mindset when working with students Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and demonstrate cultural sensitivity Strong organizational and problem-solving skills A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, learning environment Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations A genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills Confidence in working in the school setting including in-class support Duties And Responsibilities Without restricting the generality of the purpose above, the Speech-Language Pathology Support Worker shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including but not restricted to, the following: Provide intervention support related to students with communication disorders Participate as a member of the student services team as required Collaborate in transition planning for children with communication needs Conduct speech-language screenings as directed by the SLP Communicate with school personnel and parents regarding individual interventions and homework Provide input for year-end summary reports for students receiving services Provide direct/indirect individual, small group and large group intervention as prescribed by the SLP Provide in-class small group support as assigned by the SLP to support division based incentives in Kindergarten classrooms - supporting language learning centers Provide support and guidance using assistive technology for students that require low or high tech support Obtain informed written consent from parents/guardians Consult with parents/guardians, teachers and students regarding students' interventions and homework Provide information to contracted Speech-Language Pathologists and other professionals as needed Maintain an up-to-date system of information retrieval in order to prepare accurate annual report of services rendered Maintain an inventory of speech and language materials purchased by the division Be responsible to perform duties in accordance with the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LAFOIP) practices Be responsible for providing the Human Resources department with revised updates relevant to your area, as required Be knowledgeable and supportive of applicable Division operations and procedures Be willing to engage in lifelong learning with respect to professional development and training Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to a professional learning environment Be knowledgeable of and adhere to Division standards with regard to technology use Be knowledgeable of and adhere to government standards relating to Occupational Health and Safety as defined in the Saskatchewan Employment Act Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Director of Education or designate.
