Job summary

Position Description Working closely with the SPAAR Service Field Supervisor, the SPAAR Service Manager and the service team, the Service Taping Tech is responsible for completing the taping portion of drywall repairs including tape and a coat, finish for paint and texture. The taping tech works in houses both during the construction segment and after occupancy. Critical Aspects Strong commitment to and background in customer service Very good communication skills both verbally and using smart phones Strong ability to assess urgency and prioritize work accordingly Strong ability to logically think through requests and problem solve Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including excellent time management Ability to multi-task and follow through on tasks Ability to take direction and work as part of a team Responsibilities Complete high-quality taping and sanding drywall repairs for various finishes such as painting and texture Small boarding repairs- up to 3 ft X 3 ft including doorway returns Complete trades date appointments in occupied homes Must be able to work effectively with builders and homeowner clients Must be able to effectively work with other trades including boarders, finishers, railing and cabinet installers and painters Effectively manage a list of jobs and call in for more work regularly Provide office with texture dates and relevant follow up information Provide office with details of the work completed for billing purposes Qualifications Minimum Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract Experience in a customer service in a residential drywall environment Excellent taping and sanding skills with ability to effectively trouble shoot issues in a variety of different scenarios Attention to detail and deadlines, ability to multi-task, self-motivate, flexible and a team player Understanding of the residential construction industry Experience in the commercial drywall industry a definite asset
