About Role You will work closely with our Licensed/Registered Optician(s), store partners, optometrist(s), store manager, contact lens practitioner, and eye care consultant(s), to achieve the store’s objectives and build customer/patient loyalty. In this role you will be contributing your knowledge and experience, within your permissions as a student, throughout our customer journey in the dispensing process of eyewear. You will be engaging with our patients and customers while discovering or reemphasizing their eyewear needs, educating them on products, walking them through the process of frame selection, and ensuring the consistent delivery of the best quality of service and eyewear that our patients and customers have ever experienced. Our Licensed/Registered Optician(s) are committed to provide mentorship to Student Opticians and the retail team, to assist with the development of our people and to continuously deliver high standards of services. Key Responsibilities • Under the supervision of a Licensed/Registered Optician on premise: o Ensure that customers receive guidance with frame selection and a clear understanding of our frame and lens product options, to ensure the proper function of the eyewear based on their visual requirements and needs o Carry out dispensing measurements accurately, while using Specsavers digital measuring tool, to ensure proper function, comfort and fit of the glasses o Conducts quality assurance checks and final inspections in-store to ensure that the product we deliver meet the required specifications o Carry out the eyewear collection procedure accurately and efficiently, using best practice to ensure we deliver a positive and memorable experience for our customers o Conduct minor adjustments and repairs within your skillset comfort level • Knows the product portfolio well (frames, lenses, and treatments), as well as promotional offers and incentives to best inform our customers • Keep up to date with contact lens promotions and recommend a contact lens fitting as directed by the Contact Lens Practitioner or Store Manager/Retail Partner. • Ensure dispensing processes are carried out following the provincial Opticianry professional standards of Practice and Guidelines, and Specsavers best practices • Proactively engage in professional development opportunities and continuous learning, to improve your skills and product knowledge • Perform other tasks as needed, including store daily closing, maintaining store cleanliness, inventory counts, and other duties assigned • Assist the retail team with any opticianry related questions • Perform diagnostic testing and other pre-exam testing as required • Be an ambassador for the Specsavers brand at all times, while championing the behaviours and values which Specsavers stands for. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience • Be enrolled in an Opticianry post-secondary program • Have at least 2 yrs. of previous customer service experience, preferably in an optical dispensary environment • Knowledge of optical theory and technical skills • Strong organizational, time management and computer skills • Self-starter with a problem-solving and analytical skill set • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an Opticianry post-secondary program and possess at least two years of customer service experience. Proficiency in optical theory and strong organizational and communication skills are required.
