Job Title: AWS Developer Duration: 1 year Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days onsite) Team size: 5 people Team culture: Collaborative & teamwork oriented Candidate value proposition: Exposure to new technologies & experience working with various groups within client Job Summary We are seeking an experienced AWS Developer (Back end & JAVA) with strong expertise in cloud-native application development and full-stack technologies. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions leveraging AWS services, serverless architectures, and modern frameworks. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications on AWS Build backend services using Java Implement scalable backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, RDS/DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Cognito, and CloudFront. Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React and Angular. Integrate front-end applications with backend services and AWS infrastructure. Write clean, testable, and well-documented code; establish unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Apply secure coding practices; integrate authentication/authorization and secrets management following AWS and OWASP best practices. Ensure application security, scalability, and performance in a cloud environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Implement CI/CD pipelines and follow best practices for cloud deployments. MUST HAVES 8+ years of development work experience with Java. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience with HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript. Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, CDK). Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS). Familiarity with REST API integration. Understanding of frontend testing, debugging, and browser performance. Experience with Git, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows. Version Control: Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows. CI/CD: Experience with AWS CodePipeline or similar tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment. Troubleshooting. Software development lifecycle. Reliable and accountable, strong team player, self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates initiative, is proactive, and consistently looks for ways to improve processes. Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. NICE TO HAVES Knowledge of security best practices in AWS. Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding, conceptualizing, and facilitating technical requirements from users.? Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Using AI tools for coding and automation Banking/Financial industry a strong asset Any specific education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
