Job summary

Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment. We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 13 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites. We are currently looking for a full-time Merchandiser, Graphics, reporting to the Sales Manager, Sign and Display, Western and Central Canada. Your Challenge: Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, Sign and Display, Western and Central Canada, the duties and responsibilities of the Merchandiser, Graphics include, but are not limited to, the following: * Ensure that all relevant information has been provided by the customer (options, deadlines, etc.); * Prepare quotes, check stock availability, confirm prices and delivery times; * Approve quotes and purchase orders; * Advise customers by phone, email, or fax and inform the sales representative of any necessary follow-up; * Place orders with the factory and approve the corresponding invoices; * Produce purchase orders, send them (by email or fax) to the factory, and ensure confirmation with customers; * Verify base costs, additions, and terms and conditions, and attach the relevant documentation to customer purchase orders; * Place orders for different grades of merchandise; * Verify inventories, confirm costs and prices, and advise purchasing management accordingly; * Order samples from the factory and respond to sample requests (by phone, email, or fax); * Respond to requests from internal employees and external representatives; * Make outbound sales calls to clients; * Perform certain administrative tasks, including preparing reports; * Work closely with the sales team to maintain and grow sales; * Perform other administrative or related duties as required. * Other duties as assigned. Your Qualifications: * Completion of a post-secondary school diploma / certificate or the equivalent combination of education and experience; * Minimum 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience; * Excellent account management skills; * Extremely detail oriented and attention to accuracy; * Strong communication skills (both oral and written); * Proficient in using MS Office; * Ability to work well as part of a team; * Excellent customer service skills; * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle deadline pressure well; and * Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction. Working Conditions: * Ability to work long hours at a computer, which may cause physical discomfort (wrists, eyes, back, etc.); * Ability to thrive in a busy, open-plan office environment; * Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; * Ability to cope with multiple tight deadlines that can cause stress; * Occasional availability to work evenings or weekends; Spicers Canada ULC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all interested parties. Requirements
