Our client is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to support commercial aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, with a primary focus on CFM56 engines. This role is ideal for engineers with strong aircraft engine knowledge who enjoy solving technical problems, supporting shop-floor operations, and working closely with production teams throughout the engine overhaul process. This opportunity offers exposure to engine teardown, inspection, repair, assembly, troubleshooting, technical investigations, and engineering disposition activities within a collaborative MRO environment. What You'll Do Provide technical support during CFM56 engine disassembly, inspection, repair, and assembly activities Work closely with production teams and powerplant engineers to resolve technical issues and inspection findings Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and engineering discrepancy resolution Participate in technical investigations, root cause analyses, and warranty or quality-related reviews Ensure engineering documentation aligns with technical specifications and regulatory requirements Communicate technical information with OEMs, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders Support engineering dispositions, repair development, and technical instructions Collaborate with configuration, methods, and engineering teams to support engine overhaul operations Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline Experience supporting aircraft engines in an airline, OEM, MRO, maintenance, overhaul, repair, or propulsion engineering environment Strong knowledge of commercial aircraft gas turbine engines and propulsion systems Ability to identify major engine components and understand their function within the engine Familiarity with ATA Chapter 72 engine components, including Life-Limited Parts (LLPs), fan modules and fan frames, compressors, combustors, turbines, exhaust systems, LRUs, and accessories Understanding of hot-section and cold-section engine hardware Experience troubleshooting engine-related technical issues Knowledge of FARs, CARs, Service Bulletins (SBs), and Airworthiness Directives (ADs) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Experience CFM56 engines Aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) Commercial aircraft engine overhaul programs Engine teardown, inspection, and assembly activities Material Review Board (MRB) support Technical investigations and root cause analysis Engineering dispositions and repair development Test cell operations OEM, airline, or engine shop environments The Ideal Candidate Possesses strong aircraft engine knowledge and enjoys working with engine hardware Can confidently identify engine components and explain where they belong within the engine Understands why components operate in hot-section versus cold-section environments Enjoys solving technical problems in a production setting Works effectively with technicians, inspectors, engineers, and operations teams Collaborative, hands-on, and eager to learn Interested in building a long-term career in aircraft propulsion and engine overhaul This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing aviation team and gain exposure to engine overhaul, troubleshooting, technical investigations, repair development, and propulsion engineering while supporting commercial aircraft engine programs.
