Job details

Our client is the exclusive North American importer of a leading brand of coatings, a paint manufacturer with a legacy dating back to 1800's. This business has become a leader in the doors and windows coatings market in Canada, built on the quality of the products and, above all, the expertise of the team. As Technical Account Manager, you won't just be selling paint, you'll be a technical partner to the clients. You'll build meaningful relationships across client organizations, audit their processes to ensure they're getting real value from our products, troubleshoot day-to-day issues on the shop floor, and flag bigger technical opportunities (like automation projects) to our Technical Director. This is a relationship-first, expertise-driven role. A state-of-the-art manufacturing facility features a full down-draft spray booth so you can receive the best technical training and bring your expertise to the next level. Responsible for: Building meaningful relationships across client organizations to solidify positioning as a trusted partner, not just a supplier. • Conduct in-depth client visits to audit their processes and ensure they're getting real value. • Solve day-to-day technical issues on site (e.g., surface preparation problems) as they arise. • Prepare thorough reports on larger technical challenges or projects (e.g., automation) to brief the Technical Director and work as a team on those projects. • Support the internal team with approvals and cross-functional collaboration when needed. • Represent the company at occasional events where our client base will be attending. • Update salesforce weekly with the relevant information on accounts visited and future action items. What you will bring: Experience in account management, technical sales, or a client-facing role. Experience in paint, coatings, or an industrial/manufacturing environment is required. • A strong sense of autonomy as this role is mostly remote and on the road. • Genuine curiosity and sharp questioning instincts. You dig into a client's process to find the real problem, not just the symptom. • Diligence and follow-through, especially when documenting technical issues for the team at the headquarters. • Resilience, being comfortable navigating shop floors, technical pushback, and the occasional curveball. • A valid driver's license and comfort with regular travel across Ontario (overnight travel is rare). Note: This role is fully remote and the candidate must reside in the Toronto area.
