Role Description The Health and Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Brigden, ON. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety programs across mechanical, electrical, and civil operations, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, company policies, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations; developing and updating safety procedures and documentation; and supporting the creation and delivery of safety training for team members. The role collaborates closely with project managers, supervisors, and field crews to promote a strong safety culture, monitor corrective actions, and track safety performance metrics. The coordinator also assists with EHS reporting, prepares required documentation for audits, and participates in planning meetings to identify and mitigate risks before work begins. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Workplace Safety principles, including relevant regulations and industry best practices. Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training delivery, including developing training materials, conducting orientations, and facilitating toolbox talks. Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Certifications such as CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent are considered an asset. Experience in industrial, construction, or mechanical contracting environments is highly beneficial. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. Proficiency with standard office software and safety management systems, and a valid driver’s license for local site visits.
