Role Description The Materials Specialist is a full-time, on-site role located in Brigden, ON. This role is responsible for coordinating the flow of materials to support fabrication, field installations, and maintenance activities, ensuring timely availability and accurate documentation. Daily tasks include receiving and inspecting materials, organizing and maintaining storage areas, tracking inventory levels, and preparing materials for production and site deployment. The Materials Specialist will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and trades teams to align material delivery with project schedules, resolve discrepancies, and support safe material handling practices. The role also involves using inventory and ERP systems, updating records, and participating in continuous improvement efforts related to materials management and efficiency. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to interpret material requirements, review documentation, and support data-driven inventory decisions. Hands-on material handling experience, including safe operation of material-moving equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Knowledge of inventory control practices, including stock tracking, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical and system records. Experience in materials management, including planning, ordering, staging, and coordinating materials across multiple projects. Understanding of industrial materials commonly used in mechanical, electrical, and civil construction environments. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and basic drawings or material take-offs. Proficiency with inventory or ERP software and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office or equivalent). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics providers. Previous experience in construction, fabrication, or industrial environments is an asset.
