Role Description The Project Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Brigden, ON. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, analyzing project scopes, soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, and developing competitive bids and budgets. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, and field teams to clarify technical requirements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support change orders and project updates. The role also involves maintaining accurate estimate documentation, supporting forecast and cost tracking, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes. Qualifications Strong project estimation capabilities, including Project Estimation and Construction Estimating skills. Solid financial and cost control skills, including Cost Management and Budgeting. Effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with ERP or project management systems is an asset. Relevant experience in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or civil construction environments. Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities, with high attention to detail. Commitment to safety, quality, and non-discriminatory, inclusive workplace practices.
