This position has the title of Supportive Services Supervisor. This is an exciting temporary full-time position for a professional and reliable candidate who is able to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment. The Supportive Services Supervisor - Licensed Practical Nurse responsibilities include scheduling of staff and tasks, evaluation, supervision, training, quality control, recruitment and oversight of Independent Living Assistants (HCA’s). In addition, the Supportive Services Supervisor - Licensed Practical Nurse will work closely with AHS Case Managers, and will also schedule and delegate authorized personal care services for clients to the ILA’s. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Schedule and prioritize support services in collaboration with Home Care Nurse. * Receives comments/information from staff and reports to the Home Care Nurse/Clinical Compliance Lead/Manager changes in individual Resident conditions, behaviour, participation in unusual activities; and over-all care needs. * Supervise, train and evaluate Independent Living Assistants (HCAs). * Assign daily tasks to ILAs, ensuring alignment with care plans. * Oversee quality control in service delivery, including laundry and meal service. * Manage ILA orientation and disciplinary actions. * Provide LPN services as authorized, including medication administration. * Liaises with Pharmacies regarding medication changes and concerns. QUALIFICATIONS: * Licensed Practical Nurse certificate and registration in good standing with the CLHA is required. * First Aid and CPR certification is required. * Minimum two years' experience providing services to the elderly in a Supportive Living environment is preferred. * Experience in scheduling and supervising health care staff. * Proficient computer skills including MS Office Word and Excel, and ability to learn new programs. * Proficient in spoken and written English. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrates leadership and problem-solving abilities. ALL SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PRIOR TO START DATE: * A current and clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained on more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date. * A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date. * Completion of all Hepatitis B vaccines.
