Job summary

Install and maintain all plumbing and piping systems, including fixtures and water purification systems, within a facility. Perform regular preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure the smooth operation of domestic water systems.

Job details

Duties & Responsibilities Lays out and installs all plumbing and piping systems, and fixtures including sinks, washbasins, toilets, scrub sinks, showers, emergency eye wash systems, and waterlines. Consistently performs quality control checks of back flow prevention systems, valves, and other water purification and softening systems. Repairs any system as necessary. Conducts an extensive preventative maintenance program of all plumbing fixtures, replacing any old and dated material. Ensures the smooth operation of the domestic hold and cold water systems. Troubleshoots, and performs regular maintenance of all plumbing systems, and fixtures. Liaises with other engineering and maintenance staff as necessary to solve any major plumbing problems. Logs in all plumbing repairs and installations. Acts as a relief shift maintenance mechanic as required. Qualifications Must be a certified plumber. Minimum 2 years recent experience, preferably in a Hospital setting. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem recognition and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team. Must be physically able to perform the job.
