Job summary

Materials Planner – Contract Opportunity (Contract to Permanent) Industrial Manufacturing | Canadian Head Office $34–$38/hour, based on experience Are you a Materials Planner who enjoys turning production schedules, forecasts and MRP data into clear material plans that keep manufacturing moving? This contract opportunity is with a stable, global industrial manufacturer supporting complex operations across multiple essential industries. You will work closely with production, purchasing, engineering and suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed, shortages are identified early and manufacturing schedules stay on track. What you’ll be responsible for: • Reviewing production schedules and MRP outputs • Forecasting material requirements across a 6–8 week planning horizon • Monitoring inventory levels and initiating replenishment • Identifying material shortages and supply risks • Coordinating with purchasing, engineering and operations • Communicating with suppliers regarding deliveries, quantities and changes • Tracking rejected material, scrap, rework and order progress • Supporting inventory accuracy and continuous improvement initiatives What we’re looking for: • Experience in materials planning, production planning or supply chain within manufacturing • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and material flow • Ability to translate production schedules into actionable material plans • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills • Experience coordinating with suppliers, freight or logistics partners • SAP experience is an asset, but not required This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment where planning accuracy directly impacts production and customer delivery.
